Why LeaderFlow
The Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, like many others, is actively pursuing goals to achieve greater diversity, equity, and inclusion. Historically, the industry has faced significant underrepresentation of diverse leadership, with ongoing challenges in retaining diverse talent. A critical gap in this career pipeline is the lack of access to vital leadership development training for mid-career professionals, particularly for individuals of color, which hinders their advancement into leadership roles.
LeaderFlow, Inc. was created as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to directly address this issue by providing a leadership development program that empowers diverse mid-career professionals to thrive and excel in their careers, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and equitable AEC industry.
Why LeaderFlow
What makes LeaderFlow different?
We focus our recruiting efforts primarily on professionals of color that will make up a cohort of 12-15 participants from within the same city, but preferably not from the same company. We found that through our inaugural leadership development program, this blend of participants helped to create more authentic and vulnerable conversations as the emerging leaders can openly discuss their experiences and perspectives in a safe space without directly challenging their co-workers or firm leaders.
Our Mission
To accelerate the pipeline to leadership primarily for professionals of color in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.

Janiece Williams
Co-Founder & Executive Director of LeaderFlow
Janiece Williams is trained as an architectural designer and one of the original cohort participants from the 2021 pilot program. With over 10 years of architecture experience, she developed a strong desire to help developing professionals as they navigate the architecture industry. This passion led her to committing more of her time to justice, diversity, equity, & inclusion related causes and initiatives. The impact of the pilot program led her to co-launch LeaderFlow to encourage others, especially professionals of color, to invest time in their own personal growth and development, and empower them to become great leaders.
